SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONS
How we’re setting the pace in sustainability.
Clean Energy |
YSG Singapore is headquartered in Supply Chain City, which houses close to 8,000 solar panels providing renewable energy that sustains its own power needs with enough surplus power being channeled back to the grid. The rooftop solar farm’s panels are rated to provide enough power an equivalent of more than 770 averaged-sized 3 bedroom apartments for a year. This clean energy initiative helps to avoid an approximately 1.5 million kilograms of CO2e emissions a year for the building, equivalent to the emissions contributed by almost 320 cars on the road. This Green Energy initiative is in support of the Singapore Green Plan 2030; the National Sustainability Movement.
Emissions Reduction |
Backed by our parent company, YCH Group’s superior logistics uses proprietary fleet management technology which optimises delivery route planning. Our combined capabilities and competencies as an industry-leading logistics service, leverages on logic and algorithms programmed to efficiently plan travel routes in the shortest distance and smoothest sequential drop points, the time spent on the road by drivers, translating to lower carbon emissions. Our proprietary software optimises geographical route planning logic, reducing unnecessary repeated cross-region transport. We strive to continually use our technology know-hows to advocate and select essential 3rd party partners to join us in adopting such sustainable best practices.
Sustainable Packaging Initiative |
YSG's push for the adoption and use of all-natural paper-based products from Ranpak, to tackle one of the greatest threats to our planet and ecosystem. The dangerous effects through the release of greenhouse gases caused by the destruction of plastic waste on climate change and global warming. Our engagement efforts and advocacy far extend to our partners and brands in which we aim to collectively reduce the reliance on unnecessary plastic use. YSG is proud to partner with Ranpak, which is committed to participating in the circular economy. Its focus of continual search for better and more sustainable use of materials is assuring YSG that we are on the right track.
A recognised leader in sustainable packaging, Ranpak’s packaging material consists of paper manufactured from virgin pulp, recycled pulp, and blended paper, critical in preserving our forests and natural environments. The use of blended paper pulp from recycled paper reduces the reliance on deforesting for new raw materials for paper production.
