The Masseto is a great and prestigious expression of Merlot of the zone of Bolgheri ,a king of the Italian wine. The notes of small red fruits are perfectly integrated with spicy notes. The taste is harmonic and balanced, a perfect dosage of elegant and structure, freshness and smoothness, with an infinity final. Aromas of cedar, red berry, pipe tobacco and a whiff of toasted oak lift out of the glass. The elegant but restrained palate delivers red cherry, cassis, licorice and exotic spice alongside bright acidity and fine-grained polished tannins. It's an admirable effort for the cool wet vintage
