40%ABV. 'Suntory Special Reserve was launched in 1969 to commemorate Suntory’s 70th anniversary. A blend of Chita grain, Yamazaki and Hakushu malts matured in first-fill American oak casks. A complex, creamy and fruity blend with a proportionally higher percentage of Hakushu malt that lends classic Hakushu notes of stewed green apples.
Nose: Peaches, bananas and pineapple followed by vanilla and gentle oak.
Palate: Immediate spiciness, nuts, fresh-baked scones and stewed green apples.
Finish: Nicely warming and mouth coating with a medium length; nuts and custard over stewed green apples.
