Simply Rocks - Baryte & Chalcopyrite

Description: In the likes of Malachite that is very often found alongside Azurite, it is also common to find Baryte and Chalcopyrite crystals together like this beautiful specimen from a well known locality that is now exhausted and since 2007, remain closed. The mine is renowned for its beautiful baryte and chalcopyrite crystals. These specimens often feature salmon-pink bladed baryte crystals accented by chalcopyrite crystals. This aesthetic specimen is in beautiful vanilla-yellow hue with glistering chalcopyrite crystals generously sprinkled and distributed across the baryte blades.

This beautiful specimen is from the personal collection of Klaus Krause, a German mineral collector with more than 40 years of actual field experience in collecting minerals from all around the world. Over the years, he has, notably, built up a fascinating collection of barite from the Ruhr mining area which is also the same location where this attractive specimen comes from and if I might say, it looks even more stunning when view in person.
