Description: As one of the world's top fluorite producers, the world has been seeing an influx of high quality material from China. The large geographical expanse of China would see different regions producing fluorites that are recognisable by the characteristics such as the pale blue-purple to dark purple cubes to several centimetres are typical of the Yaogangxian Mine. Fluorites from ZheJiang demand the same level of respect with their enchanting light to dark purple hues or green cubes with irregular dodecahedral modifications. The fluorite crystals exhibit "phantoms" which are ghost-like images of smaller crystals within the larger crystal. This effect is due to the crystal resuming its growth which at some point was interrupted and thereby creating a layering effect within the crystal. The particular specimen is typical material from ZheJiang and is highly valued by collectors for its unique and striking appearance.
